10A 3-Pin Charger For Charging All Models Of The Vauxhall Grandland.
This portable 3-pin EV charger is capable of charging the Vauxhall Grandland at 10A, providing approximately 2.3kW of power. The 3 pin charger is also referred to as the granny charger, home charger, mains charger and “brick”.
Simply plug the charger into a standard 3-pin 13A socket for a 10A charge. We recommend this type of charger as an emergency backup.
If you are going to charge your Vauxhall Grandland for prolonged periods using a 13A socket, then we recommend our adjustable current charger. This type of charger lets you charge at lower currents, which helps to avoid heat stress on the mains socket.
Additionally, the adjustable current feature allows the vehicle to lower the current as needed, if the vehicle software allows.
The variable charger also includes DC current protection equivalent to a Type B RCD and has a timer that allows you to schedule charging to start anywhere from 1 to 10 hours after plugging in.
Most chargers sold in the UK are restricted to 10A for safety reasons. Charging at this current significantly diminishes the risk of the 13A socket overheating. Consequently, we will not offer for sale any 3-pin charger capable of charging at 13A due to the increased risk of damage it may cause to the 3-pin socket.

Is This 3 Pin Charger Suitable For The Vauxhall Grandland?
Choosing The Right Charger
The Vauxhall Grandland has a Type 2 socket as standard, ensuring compatibility with this charger.
Charging an EV for long periods with a 13A socket may cause thermal damage to the socket. For instance, the socket may overheat in cases where it has damaged or faulty wiring, or when the electrical circuit is overloaded. It is rare, but it does happen.
For this reason, we strongly recommend having an electrician inspect the intended socket to certify its suitability for charging the Vauxhall Grandland.
We understand that, at times, you might be charging your Vauxhall Grandland with a socket that has not been certified by an electrician. In such instances, we recommend the adjustable current charger as it provides additional protection for the 3-pin socket.
It is also a good idea to check, after a few hours of charging, that both the plug and socket are not becoming excessively hot during charging.
Avoid using an extension lead or adapter with this 3-pin charger. Plug the charger directly into the socket. Ensure that water does not come into contact with the 3-pin plug or the Type 2 plug, and keep the charger dry when not in use. Before connecting the charger to the Vauxhall Grandland, be sure to read the user booklet included with the charger.
