Type 2 Multi Adapter EV Charger For 3 Phase and 1 Phase 16A CEE Sockets, & 16A Euro Sockets
£348.00 – £564.00 vat included
Type 2 multi adapter 16A charger that will allow you to charge your EV from 6A to 16A using a 3 Phase 16A Commando (also known as CEE) socket, 1 Phase 16A Commando socket and 16A 2 pin Schuko (Euro) Socket. This mutiadapter is for EV’s with a Type 2 socket. The charger will provide up to 11kW dependent upon the AC Onboard charging capacity of the vehicle and the socket that it is connected to. For example, if you use the 16A 3 Phase adapter with a 16A 3 Phase CEE socket, your vehicle will accept up to 11kW if the AC Onboard charger of the vehicle is 11kW or up to 7kW if the Onboard charger is 7kW. This multi adapter charger can therefore be used with any Type 2 socket full electric or plug-in Hybrid EV. It does not matter if the Onboard charger of the vehicle accepts up to 3kW or 7kW as that is the maximum current your EV will receive from the charger, regardless of whether the power outlet can provide more than 3kW or 7kW. A free cable bag is supplied. If you are purchasing multiple adapters we would recommend upgrading to the EV cable case. You can also buy a universal charger that allows charging using a 32A Commando socket or 13A mains socket as well as the 16A sockets. Please read below for more information about this multi-charger.
Please Read Before You Buy
Our Type 2 chargers are normally returned for one of the reasons below. Reading this information may help you to avoid having to return the charger. Please also read the information tab further down the page as it contains important information about this EV charger.
Ensure compatibility between the charging cable and your vehicle. The images on this page provide a visual guide to the sockets that the charger will plug into, allowing you to match the cable plug to your vehicle socket and power socket. This charger is for a Type 2 socket EV. You can also use our EV Cable Finder to locate your vehicle and explore the charging cables available for your vehicle.
Is the cable long enough? Measure the distance from the power outlet to the Type 2 vehicle socket, typically where your vehicle is parked, and add half a meter to prevent overstretching the cable.

Charge your EV using one charger to connect to multiple types of 16A sockets.
The Type 2 multi adapter EV charger can charge 1 Phase and 3 Phase, allowing a maximum current of up to 11kW. The adapters that are available to buy for this charger will allow you to use one device to charge an EV with the following power outlets:
It does not matter if the power socket provides more current than the onboard charger (OBC) of an EV will allow because the vehicle will determine the maximum amount of current that it will draw from the EV charger. If the AC onboard charger (OBC) of your Type 2 socket EV accepts anywhere in between 3kW to 11kW, you can use this charger. If your EV has a CCS socket then your vehicle will have AC capacity and DC capacity. The DC capacity is anywhere between 50kW and 350kW depending on the EV, but this only relates to when you are using a DC charging supply.
Our 16A multi adapter charger has variable current and it can be manually set to charge up to 1 Phase or 3 Phase 6A, 8A, 10A, 13A and 16A. The setting will be remembered the next time you charge your EV. Therefore, this muti adapter charger can be used with (solar panel, Photovoltaic) PV Systems.
9 hole Type 2 / CCS socket and a 7 hole Type 2 socket
IS THIS 16A 3 PHASE COMMANDO EV CHARGER SUITABLE FOR MY EV / PHEV?
Is This The Right Charger For My EV
The EV must have a Type 2 socket to use this charger. The majority of electric vehicles sold in Europe have a Type 2 socket. The vehicle will either have a 7 hole socket for AC charging, or a 9 hole CCS socket. CCS stands for Combined Charging Socket because it combines the sockets required for AC and DC charging. The Type 2 cable is designed to fit into the 7-hole upper chamber of the CCS socket. So if your vehicle socket has 7 holes or 9 holes, it is Type 2.
If you are still not sure, click the button below to locate your EV / PHEV and this will confirm if your vehicle is Type 2.Please also check the information at the top of this page, “Please Read Before You Buy”, to help avoid the most common reasons for returning a charging cable.
We advise that the electrical socket and supply that is used to charge an EV will need to have been checked by an electrician to make sure that it is suitable for charging an EV for long periods and at variable currents.
Please also check the information at the top of this page, “Please Read Before You Buy”, to help avoid the most common reasons for returning a charging cable.
The adapters that are available for this multi socket charger allows an EV to be charged from all 5 pin and 3 pin 16A CEE socket and 2 pin 16A Euro (Type F, Schuko) socket. The charger will detect the voltage of the power supply so it will auto switch to 1 Phase or 3 Phase power.
Therefore, this multi socket socket charger is suitable if you want to charge your vehicle with a 16A socket when going camping. Or, if you are taking the charger to mainland Europe.
If you want a multi socket charger that will connect to 32A Commando and 13A mains sockets as well as the 16A CEE and Euro sockets, then the 32A universal EV charger is recommended.
When using this 16A multi socket charger with the adapter / power outlets displayed in the table below, the charger will provide the following maximum currents:
Adapter & Outlet
Max kW
3 Phase CEE 16A
11kW
1 Phase CEE 16A
3,7kW
Schuko 16A
3,7kW
The maximum current displayed in the above table will not necessarily be the current that the EV / PHEV will accept. The vehicle will only accept up to the maximum AC current of it’s onboard charger (OBC).
