Please Read Before You Buy
Our Type 2 to CEE chargers are normally returned for one of the reasons below. Reading this information may help you to avoid having to send your charger back to us. Please also read the Product Description further down the page as it contains important information about this CEE charger.

  • Will the CEE plug fit your CEE / Commando socket? You will need to check the phase and amp rating of the socket to ensure that you are buying the correct charger. A 3 Phase socket will have 5 holes and usually have a red cover and a 1 Phase socket will have 3 holes and a blue cover. The Amp rating is usually on the cover of the socket and will state 16 or 32.
  • Is the cable long enough? Measure the length from your CEE / Commando socket to where your vehicle will usually be parked (the Type 2 vehicle socket is usually on the right side, to the rear of the vehicle) and add half a metre to avoid over stretching the cable.
  • Is this CEE charger compatible with my vehicle? If you know that your EV has a Type 2 socket, then this Type 2 to CEE charger is compatible with your vehicle. The vehicle will also adjust the current it receives to ensure that the EV will not receive more current than it’s battery will allow. If you are not sure if your vehicle has a Type 2 socket, please view the photos of a Type 2 socket on this page and match them with the vehicle. You can also view a list of Type 2 socket EV’s below, or use our EV Cable Finder.
  • Is this a rapid charging cable? This is not a CCS cable. If you want a cable to use with a DC rapid charger, you do not need to buy one as the cable is always attached to the unit.
Cable Care & Safety
To ensure that you take care of your charger, please make sure that you follow the safety instructions in the user booklet for your charging cable. These chargers have a 12 months manufacturer warranty. However, following the instructions and safety information for using the Type 2 to CEE charger will help to ensure trouble-free use. If you do not receive the user booklet, please let us know. Please also check out our EV Cable Care Guide for advice about safely using your CEE charging cable and how to avoid the most common reasons why it will stop working.

Charge A Type 2 Socket Range Rover EV using a 3-Pin 32A Commando Socket.

The 220V-240V (230V) Blue 32A Commando charger is capable of delivering a current of up to 7.4W.

It does not matter if your vehicle can handle more or less than 7.4kW, because the vehicle will dictate the maximum current it can draw from the EV charger.

This Commando socket charger is single phase. Also known as the industrial socket charger, camping socket charger and CEE charger.

The charger’s current can be adjusted to provide 10A, 16A, 26A, or 32A, and your chosen setting will be saved for the next time you charge your EV.

Check beforehand that your Commando socket is 1 Phase 32A. The socket will usually be blue. Are you looking for a Type 2 to 16A or 32A 3 Phase CEE charger, or a 16A 1 Phase CEE charger? Then please view our selection of Type 2 to CEE / Commando socket chargers.

Choosing The Right Charger

The 32A Commando plug can be used with a 1 Phase 32A Commando socket. You can identify the socket by its blue cover and the presence of three holes, along with the marking “32A” or “32”.

For EV charging, it’s important to ensure the power socket is suitable. Therefore, we recommend a qualified electrician to certify that both the socket and supply are suitable for EV charging.

The Range Rover EV has a Type 2 socket as standard, thus ensuring compatibility with this charger. Please note that the manufacturer of this vehicle did not manufacture this charging cable.

Please also check the information at the top of this page, “Please Read Before You Buy”, to help avoid the most common reasons for returning a charging cable.

Do You Want A Charger With Multiple Adapters?

If you’re in search of a versatile EV charger compatible with various power sockets, then consider our multi-adapter charger. The charger supports charging from both 1 Phase and 3 Phase sockets, and provides a current range of 6A to 32A.

This charger allows connection to a variety of outlets. For instance, the 3 pin and 5 pin Commando sockets, the 13A mains socket, and the 16A Euro (Schuko) socket. You have the flexibility to choose the specific adapters you need for your charger. Furthermore, it incorporates a charging timer, enabling charging to start anywhere from 1 to 10 hours after being plugged in. When using the 3 pin UK plug adapter, the charger will automatically select a safe 10A charging mode.

For a detailed breakdown of the maximum currents provided by the multi-adapter charger when used with different adapter/power outlets, refer to the table below:

Adapter & OutletMax kW
3 Phase CEE 32A22kW
3 Phase CEE 16A11kW
1 Phase CEE 32A7,4kW
1 Phase CEE 16A3,7kW
UK 13A 2,2kW
Schuko 16A3,7kW

The maximum current displayed in the above table will not necessarily align with the current that the EV/PHEV can accept. In other words, the vehicle can only accept up to the maximum current of its onboard charger (OBC).

EV Cable Bag And Case

We provide a free canvas cable bag (suitable for cables up to 10M) to store this charger when not in use. You can also upgrade the bag to a cable case made from EVA material for enhanced waterproofing and impact protection. The EVA case has an elasticated strap in the bottom compartment and elasticated mesh pocket in the top. So it allows convenient storage of two cables. The EVA case can therefore carry 2 cables if each cable does not exceed 10 metres length (20M total length).
